Natural reservoir
The banana pipistrelle (
Neoromicia nanus) found in the Côte d'Ivoire is the natural reservoir of Mouyassue virus.
It shares a common lineage with the
Magboi virus (MGBV) found in the hairy slit-faced bat (
Nycteris hispida) in Sierra Leone
